Being a Mommy

The amazing whirlwind called "motherhood" has begun!! What a miracle life is. As I sit here trying to put my thoughts together my sweet Anna is laying in my lap, wide eyed, but slowly falling asleep. It has taken me a few days to blog because I find that sitting here for hours on end looking into her beautiful face is more appealing than anything else in this world. I feel more blessed at this moment than any word can describe. Here are a few of thoughts that continually flow through me each day.

*I feel overwhelmed by the Love of my Heavenly AND Earthly parents- I am starting to understand a small piece of the incredible unconditional love a mother has. My mom has been my hero over the last week. She was there for me every day last week and continues to provide so much support. I don't know how I would have made it through the last week without her advice, care, and love.

*My eyes fill with tears as I think of Anna and the responsibility that God has entrusted to me to raise this choice daughter. I have constantly thought of the first moment I held her; what an incredible moment. I am amazed at what we have already been through together and anticipate, with excitement, what is to come.

*An increased appreciation for my sweet husband and his love for me and Anna. He is a natural daddy who can stop his daughter's crying better than anyone. I love hearing him say.. "she is so beautiful, precious, sweet, perfect... she is my daughter." We are a Family!

*Generosity and Support from those around me- it is overwhelming how many people love me and are willing and excited to help. We have had many meals brought in, phone calls, emails, blog comments, etc. I feel so lucky- thank you to everyone.

*The unknown plan that Heavenly Father has for me of which I struggle trying to figure out, but realize there is meaning in everything... even high blood pressure.

*Healthy bodies... I honestly have been doing too much post -birth because I have been thrilled to have energy back and be able to at least stand up for a little bit. Though I have to constantly remind myself that I did just go through labor and I need to take it easy.

*Sleep.
*The Gospel. Prayer. The spirit that a baby brings into the home. Our dear Prophet, Pres. Hinckley. I will miss his tenderness, example, words of wisdom, and energy.

*A warm home.

* A good puppy who seems to understand how special Anna is.

*Love. Quiet. Good food. Baths. Snow (especially when I don't have to drive in it). Boppies. Soft Blankets. Digital cameras. Billi beds.

Oh, my list of things could go on and on. I feel so overwhelmingly happy! LIFE IS AMAZING!!!
