Yesterday was the first day I didn’t hold Maddie all day. I have been cuddling with my little one year old a lot more lately. Her second year of life has had quite a rough start. She was really cranky for her party and then the whole next week she was a irritable. I began to think we were in trouble with a whiney child, however today I saw a glimpse of my little sweetie. The poor girl was just sick! Thanksgiving Day she was clingy and wouldn’t eat. Then we were up all night with her. She just wanted to be held. She had a sore throat and who knows what else. It is so hard with a one year old to know what to do to help. I felt so bad as she would get to upset, gag on mucus with her sore throat and throw up. She was in such pain, but would also gag on medicine. I felt so bad for her. After she looked awful, wasn’t eating or sleeping I took her to the doctor. According to him she just had a virus. We had many miserable nights of sleeping on the couch together and waking up constantly to her whimpering in pain. Then she woke up on Monday with a sty on her eye. Tuesday we went to her one year old “well child” check up, she seemed to be feeling a little bit better by then. He doctor found an ear infection. Geez.
I am happy to report she seems to be on the up and up and I cannot wait to continue to watch her learn as she is soaking everything in and learning so much each day. Today she blew kisses to Dave and I think she said her version of Grandma. So much fun.
