A Perfect Summer Day

Anna has been sick for the last few days and I have felt quarantined. Today, however, has been wonderful. This is how it went

Wanted to go running early (have tried the last three days and have failed because Anna was up all night and crabby early in the morning), but didn't because I would have woken Anna
Said goodbye to a fabulous- hard- working- early- riser-husband
Slept in until 8
Woke up to a happy and rash/fever free baby
Watched her down a whole cup of pears (the first thing she has eaten in days!)
Watched a little Mary Poppins (trying to get Anna off Signing time, but it isn't working)
Cleaned up a little
Had Anna help me feed the dog- she LOVES this chore!
Took Mia in the car with us and ran Dave's dry cleaning
Talked to a cute co worker and got some hours for next week
Went on a walk/run
Put Anna down and she went right to sleep on her own
Anna has been sleeping for 2.5 hours
Did an exercise video
Sat out in the sun for an hour
checked emails/trips stuff/blogs
Talked to My love
Talked with a best friend- who is PREGNANT!
Talked with a co worker
Journal ed
Showered without a toddler nearby- actually got to shave!
Lost 3 pounds since I last weighed myself
Haven't craved bad foods today... first in a long while
Anna woke up happy saying, "Mama"- love it!
Will now plan book our trip to the upper parts of Michigan
Then will play out in a small pool with Anna
Then plan to run errands-including Costco for Pizza for dinner!
Get to see an old friend tonight!

Hope all goes well the rest of the day, it seems perfect so far. (:

A visit to Great Grandmas

Yesterday we went and spent the afternoon with my Grandma. She is 92 years old next month and is such a trooper. She still lives on her own, drives, and goes to "club" to play bridge every Monday. We went to just hang out. While I chased Anna around the many antiques and breakables (she actually did a good job not breaking anything) my Grandma told me stories about how she collected things (mostly from her world travels) and how she and my Grandpa got married and where they went on their honeymoon. It was fun to hear these stories, I wrote and wrote as she talked so I can document!

For lunch we pulled out a little table that my siblings used to play on. (If you look closely you can see years of crayons and other forms of play). Anna loves being a big girl and sitting up by herself. It brought back memories! She loved this little spoon that Great Grandma gave her.

This is Anna's new "cheese" face. The others I snapped are hillarious... and a bit scary the faces she can make.

THE WEDDING RECEPTION

I am finally posting some photos of Natalie's reception. I have been waiting because we didn't get many good close up photos. In fact I don't have ONE photo of my little family. We left the camera in the car while we were taking those and spaced doing it later. So here is a brief overview of the evening. Natalie and Trent greeting visitors. We set up all these tents in the rain, but didn't need them!

My cute cousins yes, (even the ones on the left are considered my cousins) and Grandma enjoying food under the large tent.
The water table. My mom has such a good eye for decorating, every table was beautiful.
Obviously cutting the cake. The most unflattering photo of me, but the only one we got all night. Anna LOVED eating the cake and had to do it all by herself with a fork!
The amazing Buffet!!
Little groomsmen and flower girl, they were so cute together all night, they even danced on the dance floor with one another.

My little cutie! She looked adorable, but was a little handful. (Toddler around a stream and pool, not my idea of a fun time).
Dancing with Daddy.
The bridesmaids wore black dresses with a red sash and red high heels. I got my first pair of red high heels! Then, a bunch of Natalie's friend came wearing black and red as well. Obviously the ones with the red sashes are the bridesmaids.

Ups and downs- as usual

The weight goes up, up, up, then everyonce in a while I have drive and it goes DOWN. How come I cannot get myself on the band wagon again. Chocolate, Carmel sauce with ice cream, sno cones, Skittles, more chocolate, Anna's leftovers, another slice of Pizza, "one more French Fry, blogging instead of exercising, FB instead of exercising, crafts instead of exericing, oh so many things contribute to the rollercoaster I am continually on.

Dave and I both need to get drive back, any suggestions? What do you do to loose weight, exercise or avoid snacking?

Perhaps I need to go back to no chocolate. Okay I will do it right now... until my birthday... I HAVE to have my Glaus Mint Chocolate Cake then! mmmmm.

Song of the week

Okay, I admit, I am a "song of the week" type of girl. I hear a song and I listen to it over and over for a week or longer. It gets in my head and I can not get sick of it. I have gone through many phases of this (as Dave can attest) and I love to blast the song in the car or where ever I am. My songs for right now are Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" and "Lucky" with Colbie Calliet. I have added them to our blog so I can listen to them (yes that is the real reason why they are here). I hope you all enjoy them too along with others I put on as well.

What is your "song of the day, week, month?" Any one else do this?

What's the point

Here is why I don't watch a lot of TV...

I get my hopes up all the time when I turn on the cable (direct TV) and see there are over 900 channels to choose from. THEN.... I search and search, how come all the movies are on channels that are "not purchased" and why do they list channels you haven't bought anyway... cruel and unusual punishment? How come there are over 20 exercise infomercials ("especially drop two dress sizes instantly") and a million music channels. The Spanish channels are also out of control. I cannot find a single thing that interests me besides the news (depressing) and my favorite the food channel which right now I cannot find...blast! I will look for it right now and tell you the STRANGE things that cable offers!

Carol Burnett infomercials

super bowl classics

Wimbledon prime time... now that could be interesting

Just cook this! Sam the cooking guy in Hong Kong

Pierrot Le Fou- french film with subtitles, no thanks I am not going back to Madam Burton's class

Cake Boss- I'll stop here for a moment

The golden girls- CLASSIC

Massachusetts to impose Satellite Tax- really who stops and says "oh that is exciting!"

Apologetics then and now- religion channel

LOTS OF SPANISH CHANNELS

5 test channels

10 to be announced channels

Run Fat Boy Run

Shaq and Cedric the Entertainer's all star Comedy Jam.. Dave might stop here if he were awake.

Women's college basketball...so exciting

Best D... poker show

Okay I am done. I'll watch late night with Letterman
WHERE IS THE FOOD NETWORK and the Food network challenges? I love those things.

P.S. I should just go to bed huh? Dave is sleeping because he gets to get up at 5:20 am and drive to Logan, poor kid. What did he sign up for? (:

A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING... including the weather!

Natalie and Trent are now married! They met 6 years ago, the actual week that Dave and I were married. They have been through a lot together and are now married for time and eternity. I am so thrilled for my sister. We had a FABULOUS day. The weather was suppose to be "wet, raining all day, with scattered thunderstorms." I am thankful to report that the weather man were only partially right about the rain and thunderstorms, it came and went between the luncheon and reception only lasted for 1 or 2 hours! And it was overcast during all the pictures at temple (perfect for photos), and blue sky (though a little cold) at the reception. We were nervous towards the end of the reception and prepared ourselves for a wet cleanup (it was an outdoor wedding), however we had beautiful clear skies until 1:30 AM (yes we were up until then, though part of it was relaxing for a moment in the hot tub :).

Here are photos of the beginning of the day, I am posting some of my favorites, they aren't all the picturesque poses, I will leave that up to the photographer. Pictures of the reception will come later...

My cousin Whitney and I

I love the classic child pictures. HA!

Such a cutie!

The Miner Family

All the siblings, this picture makes me so happy! And a bit teary, I love my sibs more and more each day.

The Young sisters went all over the valley to Target stores to get us prepared for rain. Luckily we didn't need the umbrellas, but they made for cute pictures!

Being goofy, I told them to jump and this is what happened.. yes they are a bit giddy as they should be.

This is Franny, our "adopted" sister, she and Natalie have been best friends since Junior High. She basically lived at our house and we LOVE her! I am so glad you came Franny. I will email you lots more cute pictures. I love this moment- you being the umbrella holder!

Such a fun morning!
